I was just wondering …

Looking back on this – years later – do you see any change in Baez? Discounting his very expensive suits, of course.

I’m just curious …

Every court appearance reveals more and more what an idiot this guy is. It started slow but now he argues with the judge, not a good thing.

Bozo has this grandiose idea that he will change the law and constitution in America. His biggest problem, he does not understand our present laws.

He still acts like a grade school kid, (silly remarks, even laughing during the LB depo). He does not act mature or even like an attorney, he’s going to crack!

I don’t think Mr Baez likes people recognizing his stupidity – I mean really, did he not think he would be questioned?

    Kim,
I see him as less confident in his client and his ability to handle this case, hence the increased bravado. I think when he originally accepted this case, he thought it was a slam dunk and he could handle it. Now, all this time later, and many, many motions, mistakes, and mistruths, he has discovered he is woefully inadequate for the defense of Casey. But, being the arrogant man he is, he will never ever let anyone see him sweat.

He has always been an arrogant a$$, but now that he is under the gun, he seems to be even more pathetic as a lead attorney in a high profile case. He is seriously outgunned and doesn’t even come close to the prosecutions professionalism. He should take lessons on how to act like an adult, who has someones life in their hands. No wonder Casey likes him. They are both very immature.

Another question – he knows he is being looked at – TV, newspaper, internet – does this encourage his behavior or inspire him to new heights of stupidity?

Hi Diana, agree with you. We have two people involved in this murder trial that has never grown up, Baez and Casey. I would say their maturity level is pre-teen.

I would not want to be Judge Perry. He has a pre-teen lawyer on his hands in a henious murder trial of all things. How can JP grow Baez up before the trial? Perhaps a gavel over the head would be a start to at least get his attention from making side glances at Casey. Grounding him and making him do his own homework would be next instead of JP doing it for him. lol. Seriously though it is a big mess.

I don’t want to hear Casey whining when she hears guilty and then saying it is her lawyers fault as he was/is an idiot. she wanted him, she never wanted to get rid of him, and i don’t want to hear whining from George, Cindy or Lee either. Especially Cindy since she was praising Baez in her letter to Casey. They got exactly what they ask for, no more, no less.

Kim, good question. Indeed why was it allowed to get this far? That is a question i have been asking since Judge Strickland was the judge. We blogger’s having known Baez was an idiot from the very beginning. Perhaps Florida Law cannot take him out if the dumb arse client wants to keep him. Florida is a place i would never want to live since the Terry Schiavo case. They allowed her heinous husband to commit murdering her through the court system where everyone in that system was as crooked as the day is long and paid off by the heinous husband. That was the most saddest and disturbing case ever.

I remember that case well – I was terribly torn.

I just don’t understand this as far as how Baez has been given such apparent leeway. It as if the systems simply allows his mockery

Kim, yes doofus Casey was asked by JS If she was happy with bozo and she said Yes. Casey doesn’t have a clue though as she is taking this whole murder trial as if it was child’s play and out she will walk in the end. I do remember George not liking Baez in the very beginning and wanted to get Casey a new lawyer. However, doofus Casey wasn’t listening or agreeing. Serves her right. I Just am concerned with all this at trial time and what it may cause.

Kim, i followed the schiavo case like i have Caylee’s case. The husband was just plain evil and he wanted Terri killed for one huge reason to spite her parents and to get what was left of her money. He is the reason she was in that state to begin with. He did it all to her. I was not torn as no one has the right to kill a person as she was living and breathing on her own, only needed the assistance of a stomach tube to feed her. Felos his attorney was weird nutcase and George Greer the judge in my opinion was paid off by hubby Schiavo. sorry i am totally off topic here . It was a nitemare for her parents and i keep hoping MIchael Schiavo get’s his so i can see as i know he will get it when he dies.

    Years from now?

Baez will look and act like an hispanic Mason. Just cut out Mason’s beard and hair and glue it on Baez. Then he (Baez) will, in turn, be enabling another teen-tude forty-something smug lawyer with a life/death case.

How many of these bad lawyers are out there? Where is the accountability?

However, it’d be nice to get a crystal ball out and say, Hmmm, after this trial Baez gets the smack-down from the Bar and must wear an “Incompetent” badge for all future prospective clients to see. Then perhaps he will put away this pretend job, and seek a real one.

Baez has been more cocky lately, and I think it is on purpose. I think he is baiting, teasing, and using the court. He knows what the blogs, media, and his peers are saying about him, and he is forced to continue defending this case due to Fla. law and his client stating her approval of him …so…..I think he has developed a F*** Y** attitude towards the court. I look for his attitude to continue and get more pronounced.

For a little while I thought there was a very slim improvement in baez but no, I was wrong. I don’t think he’s any better or worse than he was almost three years ago.

As for the Judges, I’ve said all along that in my opinion they have been too lenient with him. It has nothing to do with whether or not I “like” Strickland or Perry, because I do. I like them. But if we watched a child acting out and behaving very badly in public or in school with the parent or teacher watching, we would likely question the parent or teacher’s non-reaction. And I wonder what the case would look like now if he had been dealt with more firmly right from the start ~ no surpassing the original orders re: TES, no deadlines extended etc. etc. Do you think the case would look any different today if he hadn’t been treated with kid gloves ever since July 2008?

Anyway, after saying that, I also want to say that I know NOTHING about the law and there could be very good reasons they allowed him so much flexibility. There likely is and they just aren’t obvious to me, but thanks for letting me rant for a few minutes!

      Hi Bees!!

I am leaning towards your final statement in that I do not know enough about law to determine if this is normal in that his behavior can’t be brought under control.

Maybe his mother needs to be contacted so she can have a talk with him – lol

      Rant away, my friend!!
