Something to ponder ..

I watched Cindy on the stand yesterday. I have to admit, she was a very sympathetic witness. I even cried a bit. Her pain is obvious and now out there for the world to see.
However, I also watched the afternoon replay on HLN, crappy as their broadcast of it was. (I have little patience for badly placed commercials!)
I noticed something the second time I missed in the first emotional viewing.Cindy referred to Caylee as ‘her baby’ at least twice that I can recall.
Was it a slip of the tongue from a grieving grandmother? Or was it intentional? Implying in a subtle way that she considered Caylee her own?
We know for a fact Cindy supplied Caylee with everything – from doctors visits to formula. Casey had no income and yet the baby had everything – and more – that she would need.
hmmmm …

Cindy is finally reaching out to Caylee. I always knew she was a wonderful grandmother, but her decisions were just not reflecting it. Up until now 🙂

I think Cindy wanted a second chance at raising a daughter to prove she wasn’t entirely responsible for the first female horror she spawned.

So that then takes us to nature or nurture, Sherry

Did Cindy raise Casey in such a way as to have created this monster?

Or is there actually some physical or emotional or maybe chemical reason for Casey?

      • Sherry
        May 29, 2011 @ 15:20:34

I’m not of an either/or opinion of how children turn out as adults. I am of the opinion that both nurture and nature, plus environmental influences that can cause chemical imbalances in the brain, has an affect on a child/adult personality. I don’t know that anything Cindy could have done would have prevented Casey’s sociopathy. Her lack of discipline certainly didn’t help Casey to grow up though.

      • Kim
        May 29, 2011 @ 15:39:25

Her lack of discipline could be the result of years of frustration of her efforts having no result. Cindy and I are of an age so I see her as not wanting to raise her children with the corporal punishment we had but rather with time outs and groundings. If Casey was as out of control at a prepubescent age Cindy may have switched to more of a ‘friend’ type parenting, which we all know does not work

I’m relistening to the openers now. I’m still on LDB’s. I’m wondering if that car accident Zanny had was from Cindy’s head or if Casey really said that to her mother. Cindy was saying alot of things to deflect the investigation off of Casey so I just question if that was a Casey tale as an excuse or a Cindy tale to prove there was a nanny. If its Cindy’s woven work then Baez will bring that out as he cross examines her. I know he will do whatever he can to impeach the Anthonys.

Yes, its a shame that Cindy called Caylee her baby. I think Cindy was so used to calling her that, and believing that, that it was unintentional. Ofcourse, Cindy has been known to be passive-aggressive with Casey. I’m sure this is another thing that Baez will bring up in the cross examination. He has to make them out to be the most dysfunctional family on earth.

“Ironically, this opening statement issue came up in what many consider “the case” that led to Nancy Grace’s fall from grace (pun intended) as a prosecutor. See Carr v. State, 482 SE 2d at 322 (GA. 1997) (“The transcript of the opening argument shows that the prosecuting attorney (Nancy Grace) repeatedly made references to physical abuse although the trial court had ruled out all evidence of purported abuse. There is no occasion and no excuse for attempting to influence the jury in advance by improper statements as to evidence which counsel knows he cannot prove or will not be permitted to introduce.”)”

It’s funny, because I found her blog by total fluke,

Whenever I use my phone’s ‘wordpress’ bookmark, it
generates the most recent posts, and her’s happened
        to come up –
She must be fairly new, being that I’ve never seen her
posts before… Same for the blog she referenced for the
        ‘lip-reading’…

Anyways, being that I CANT seem to get enough, one
more added to the ‘Caylee’ list CANT possibly hurt.

On another note….Sherry did send me your email address,
but I’ve yet to check my email, and so I’ve not ‘technically’
rec’d any thing since yesterday afternoon…

I have to run out real quick, but I will check EVERYTHING
        when I return…

        And so… with that –

I Hope my fellow ‘American’ friends are enjoying their holiday

All of Cindy’s attempts for Casey’s attention went ignored for months and months. Casey refused to see her mother in the jail Mother’s day weekend.

Is Baez keeping Casey so tightly confined that even Casey is unaware of these things? Is it possible for a defendants attorney to refuse visits in the jail?
I doubt Baez could disallow a visit so he must have some other way of blocking Cindy’s visit

Well my opinion is this: Casey knows where the cameras are at all times. She has made it her business to have a trained eye. She got very emotional whenever there was a reference to: 1) OPENING STATEMENT – Physical Abuse
        2) When her girlfriend quoted her “boy I’m a good liar”, 3) When Tony said the secret wasn’t about Daddy abusing her, but Lee groping and Daddy hitting her for discipline. 4) When Cindy decided to tell the truth. The accumulation of all of that, made Casey have a mini breakdown, realizing she is not going to win this without her parents lying and coverups. She fantasized that her parents would do ANYTHING FOR HER, even taking the rap . She might even be dreaming of Lee’s testimony, backing up the abuse by her father. She’s a terrible chess player, along with her Lawyer.
Back to your post. Cindy isn’t on trial for being a loving grandmother who called her grandchild her baby. They all called her their baby. It was a group, like Casey said in jail. They each were a finger of a hand. Too bad noone used the thumb to curtail and discipline a runaway trainwreck.

      • Kim
        May 29, 2011 @ 19:18:35

Casey isn’t as smart as she is cunning. She watches, learns the lay of the land and like any chameleon she adapts nearly instantly to her surroundings. She is a user, abuser and a liar.
You are completely right, Louise, she knows exactly where the cameras are. She is also fully aware that her reactions impel her counsel to react to her and for her. They are there strictly FOR CASEY, better or worse.

This Casey’s DREAM situation!! People jumping at her beck and call!

This new ‘Motion’ that’s being filed on
        Tuesday morning, just might change
the scope of questioning that Baez and

If Baez is prevented from questioning

This is an interesting family dynamic here, to me anyway. I understand they weren’t given a lot of time to processes or prepare for a baby because Casey never bothered to tell them.

I know there are a lot of people who question this – I have simply because of Cindy being a nurse – however, I know a few young ladies who have managed to hide a pregnancy from their families. Also, in Cindy’s defense – did I say that?! – she was virtually the sole bread winner for the family. Her hours must have been killer! Just from the look of the place they lived well. Caylee wanted for nothing and we know Casey paid for nothing.

I seriously doubt Casey knows who the father is. It was convenient for the father to be dead – no questions for him, no demands from him.

There was competition between Cindy and Casey with Caylee, but Cindy could always “win” because she was accomplished and had the money.

I do think Casey loved Caylee and they had their moments, but Casey couldn’t keep up with Cindy and she had a rebellious streak. She should’ve been happy with all Cindy provided but she wanted the life her peers had. In that she found a self-worth. Cindy sometimes would put her down, which is so easy for a mother to do.

Unfortunately, Casey’s love for Caylee was often outweighed by her feelings of inadequacy and anger toward Cindy and/or her desires for a freer life.

I think she premeditated, but also snapped after being confronted by Cindy.
Yes, Casey is a monster and a fool.

I think Casey always carried feelings of inadequacy made more pronounced by an unwanted pregnancy. She never even gave herself the advantage of a diploma – this is her own doing, no one else.
She may have, in the very beginning tried to mother Caylee but I do think she hasn’t the emotional capability to love anyone / thing other than herself for any extended period.

I agree this was premeditated in the sense that she had thoughts of killing before the actual event was realized

Sorry – The actual Motion has yet to actually be filed, and so I’m not sure of it’s name, substance, and/or author.

It is believed however, that Lippman is filing a Motion forcing the Defence to PROOVE that George/Lee sexually/physically abused Inmate ‘X’!
Unless EVIDENCE of this, IS introduced by the DEFENCE, then Baez and co. CANNOT continue to question in the same vein.

This Motion should HAVE been filed by the State, immediately after opening statements.

Being that they didn’t, Lippman did and should it be DENIED, then the State will in all likelyhood, re-file it.

Unless, bozo HAS SOLID EVIDENCE, or someone that will TESTIFY TO ‘IA’ BEING abused as he continues to state, then his line of questioning will have to avoid implying this from here on…

i understand what everyone is saying and feeling but has everyone forgotten that when little Caylee was found in the woods, grandma and grandpa were eating crab cakes and having a great time. Cindy cleaned out the car lied, lied, lied for 3 years. they ruined so many people’s lives, been rude and only have thought of themselves. i guess everyone has forgotten, the last three years. if, in my opinion, Cindy was the greatest grandma , she would of known where Caylee was and had an address and phone number and a way to reach Caylee. she would of met the nanny and known everything about her. after all she was watching her precious granddaughter, for three years PLEASE!!!!!! Cindy, is trying to save her own rear, and get back at Casey. complete turn around, now they are in the hot seat. how convienent (sp) my granddaughter has lived with us since birth, she is 8 now. no way, my daughter would have pulled what Casey did and she would no longer have custody of her. they let this crap go on for months. JMO the time to stick up for Caylee was when she was born. i would of never trusted Casey with Caylee. Cindy and George should of done something to protect Caylee years ago.i know i will get flack but just stop and think how these two acted the last three years and how crazy they are!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m wondering what another commenter questioned:

If the Anthonys stood up for Casey, and George took the hit, who would prosecute him after Casey’s trial?

(George already told Baez he would be willing to break the law and get into trouble for Casey.)

If no one necessarily would go after George, then the Anthonys are merely angry about their “good” name being sullied, which doesn’t make sense. Their name has already been sullied for 3 years now.

Why is the truth so precious to them at this time, while their value of Casey’s life is diminished?
