Horses could soon be butchered in the U.S. for human consumption after Congress quietly lifted a 5-year-old ban on funding horse meat inspections, and activists say slaughterhouses could be up and running in as little as a month.

According to a pro-slaughter group called United Horsemen, meat processors are now considering opening facilities in at least a half-dozen states, including Georgia, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, and possibly Idaho.

    I know, right.

I had a horse – his name was Charlie and even as evil as he could be to me I would never have thought of eating him!!

Whaaaat??!!! I pray this does not happen!!! I was practically born on a horse (!) and I think they are the most beautiful and elegant creatures of the entire animal kingdom. I live in Oregon, and we do have wild horses, that I’d almost betcha…if this does happen, how long before the gov’t hires contractors of some sort to go out and “thin the herds” and allow the slaughter/sale of horsemeat for human consumption! I’ve got to get my butt in gear, bring myself up-to-date on this, and put out the word and hopefully this thing won’t happen. Thanks, Kim, for the heads-up.

This is totally ridiculous. There are so many deer
in Georgia you see them run over every morning.
Thanks to Obama and his idiotic whacos you can
not shoot enough deer in GA. We need to get that SOB
    out of office.

I live not too far from a horse slaughter plant that was one of the last to shut down. I understand that if we don’t slaughter the horses they will be packed like sardines and shipped overseas where the slaughter is much crueler than here. Why is it necessary to eat horse? I can understand making glue out of the ones that have died but for human consumption? 😕 Yucky~

Sherry, I am so upset that the EPA or someone in the WH
did not let the public know we had two many horses causing
property destruction in the US. I guess the wild horses are
fair game. But, too many deer and wild boars all over the
place causing crop destruction are exempt.

Hi Sherry. I guess Odumbo wants to kill the horses so he can give
the meat to the homeless Occupiers who don’t want to work.

Sue is going to be “RIP-ROARING” mad about this!

She already has serious issues and concerns about the ‘Wild Horses’ being HUNTED down….

    I am so sorry…

I had NO IDEA this was going on in my own Country…

    Horse Slaughter –
With more than 93,000 horses slaughtered in 2009 alone, Canada’s horse slaughter industry is among the largest in the world, and a shameful betrayal against our loyal companions

    Sue and I are disgusted!

And incredibly glad to know about this…. Time to join some ‘band-wagons’!!!

    Thx Kim
Holy shit, Sherlock – I really had no idea this was happening HERE!

    Wherever man
    has left his footprint
    in the long ascent from
    barbarism to civilization
    we will find
    the hoofprint of the horse
    beside it.

Kim, while researching on You Tube for my halal post guess what I ran across. A certain people group slaughtering horses. I didn’t watch the video but you could tell it wasn’t a Kosher slaughter…

I wish I could say that surprised me, Sherry but it doesn’t. There is literally nothing sacred to that cult. Not life, not family – nothing
