How to tune out and mentally survive Obama’s State of Union Address~

Tonight the undocumented 44th President of the United States of America will deliver an absolutely partisan election-year call for a “return to American values” of economic fairness, in a State of the Union Address.

Like everything else he does, Soetoro-Obama’s State of the Union rests on the politics of ego, to be delivered to a captive audience among the kind of Hollywood props that have long marked his tiresome tenancy at the White House.

Obama’s props during delivery of tonight’s address will be of the live and squirmy kind. A fawning, clown-like Joe Biden who’s losing facts about American pop culture as fast as his own hair follicles. The tongue of a simpering Nancy Pelosi will dart out, serpent like to lick her seemingly perpetually dry lips, the same as she did during the last State of the Union address.

    http://womenagainstshariah.blogspot.com/2012/01/why-us-president-should-speak-out.html

On January 24, during his State of the Union Address, the president of the United States has a chance to expose the plight of religious minorities living in Muslim majority nations. Doing so would not merely shed light on one of the most ignored humanitarian crises of the 21st century; it would help alleviate it.
Why should the president speak up on the oppression of religious minorities? For starters, because it is the right thing to do, and reflects American values and principles.

    ya think he will?

Too bad you wouldnt listen – but its so typical of your party – they dont listen to anyone but those who pay them – their corporate masters – his speech was brilliant and uplifting and the GOP’s doom and gloom response was a bore and a bunch of lies as usual. Get over it because you are going to have to listen to him for four more years – you have Newt the cheat and disgraced ex speaker of the house and his mistress running against Mitt of the sacred underpants Mormon cult. Both are losers – what a joke! You are so blinded by your prejudice it shows in every word you write. But it wont do any good – because the President will prevail against all the haters and the liars who say the most terrible racist things I have ever heard against a sitting president. You ought to be ashamed – you are asleep even when you are awake.

Secondly, I am really tired of your ‘party’ calling me a racist because your dear leader and his cult of personality has some negro blood.

I am just giving you a heads-up, folks. All this talk about a post-racial society, which sounds like it came out of a marketing strategy meeting, is designed simply to accuse all who are against Obama’s re-election of being non-post-racial. In other words, racist.

Not even any of the anti-Newt Republicans from the 1990s who have spoken out against Newt in the primaries and would love to drop a dime on him to get him out of the race know this information? Not even John Sununu or anyone else on Team Romney who would have used it against Newt in Iowa, or certainly South Carolina, or already in Florida?

This information is so devastating yet so secret still?

The Romney campaign has been hitting Newt Gingrich hard over the 1990s ethics case that resulted in the former Speaker being reprimanded and paying a $300,000 penalty. Before the Iowa caucuses, Romney and his supporting super PAC did serious damage to Gingrich with an ad attacking Gingrich’s ethics past. Since then, Romney has made other ads and web videos focusing on the ethics matter, and at the Republican debate in Tampa Monday night, Romney said Gingrich “had to resign in disgrace.”

Given all the attention to the ethics matter, it’s worth asking what actually happened back in 1995, 1996, and 1997. The Gingrich case was extraordinarily complex, intensely partisan, and driven in no small way by a personal vendetta on the part of one of Gingrich’s former political opponents. It received saturation coverage in the press; a database search of major media outlets revealed more than 10,000 references to Gingrich’s ethics problems during the six months leading to his reprimand. It ended with a special counsel hired by the House Ethics Committee holding Gingrich to an astonishingly strict standard of behavior, after which Gingrich in essence pled guilty to two minor offenses. Afterwards, the case was referred to the Internal Revenue Service, which conducted an exhaustive investigation into the matter. And then, after it was all over and Gingrich was out of office, the IRS concluded that Gingrich did nothing wrong. After all the struggle, Gingrich was exonerated.

At the center of the controversy was a course Gingrich taught from 1993 to 1995 at two small Georgia colleges. The wide-ranging class, called “Renewing American Civilization,” was conceived by Gingrich and financed by a tax-exempt organization called the Progress and Freedom Foundation. Gingrich maintained that the course was a legitimate educational enterprise; his critics contended that it had little to do with learning and was in fact a political exercise in which Gingrich abused a tax-exempt foundation to spread his own partisan message.

The Gingrich case was driven in significant part by a man named Ben Jones. An actor and recovered alcoholic who became famous for playing the dim-witted Cooter in the popular 1980s TV show The Dukes of Hazzard, Jones ran for Congress as a Democrat from Georgia in 1988. He won and served two terms. He lost his bid for re-election after re-districting in 1992, and tried again with a run against Gingrich in 1994. Jones lost decisively, and after that, it is fair to say he became obsessed with bringing Gingrich down.

Herman Cain, speaking at the National Press Club, gave a spirited response to Obama’s nakedly partisan State of the Union address.

“Mr President, put the word united back into the United States of America.” he admonished. “Stop the class warfare…Discourage your surrogates from making racial innuendos….Stop the attacks on business. …Stop the attacks on citizens by making government to big, and most of all, stop the blame game.

His own words, Theou – him saying them

    http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/210896.php

Neal Boortz noticed this in Barack Obama’s ‘Blueprint for America’ preview speech. Neal writes (emphasis mine):

Obama is smart enough to know, however, that he can’t use the actual rhetoric of Marx to promote his agenda. Words have to be tweaked to meet the demands of our present political culture. So … at Tuesday night’s State of the Union address (it will be a campaign speech, not a State of the Union speech) Obama will use this phraseology … we’ve already seen it In a campaign video sent to supporters. In that video Obama says: “I’m going to lay out a blueprint for an American economy that’s built to last. And most importantly, a return to American values of fairness for all, and responsibility from all.”

    OMG!!!! He LIED????

The Financial Times, for example, claimed “Obama advisers rejected giant stimulus,” and the Atlantic said that “history might remember this memo as the document that killed any hope of a trillion dollars stimulus.”

    This is simply wrong.

First, the stimulus package that Obama signed was almost identical to Summers’ “more ambitious option.” That proposed $300 billion in new spending (the actual amount was $343 billion); $390 billion in tax cuts (actual amount was $264 billion, not including the subsequent payroll tax cut); and $200 billion in grants to states (actual amount, $180 billion).

Nor was the stimulus smaller than economists wanted at the time. Remember that in addition to the $787 billion stimulus (the CBO later upped it to $830 billion), there were other bills passed by the Democratic Congress that, as liberal Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein notes, added $500 billion to the stimulus pile.

That’s awfully close to what even hard-core liberals advocated. Robert Reich, for example, wanted a $1.2 trillion two-year stimulus; Paul Krugman said it should be $600 billion in one year; Jamie Galbraith, $900 billion.

What the memo really exposes are Obama’s many bogus claims about his economic stewardship. Among the revelations:

        • Obama’s economic team wasn’t surprised by the depth of the recession. Obama has repeatedly claimed that no one knew how bad things were when they put together the stimulus. But the memo makes clear that Obama’s economists knew full well that the downturn was worse than officially reported at the time, saying “further negative revisions” were likely.

        • They had no idea if the stimulus would work. The memo shows why Obama’s “created or saved” jobs claims couldn’t be trusted. Job gains from federal spending, it says, are just a “rule of thumb,” adding “there is considerable uncertainty about the effects of fiscal stimulus on output and on unemployment and jobs. We could be surprised in either direction.”

The University of Minnesota’s Smart Politics conducted an analysis on the last 70 State of the Union addresses and found that President Obama’s three addresses have the lowest grade average of any modern president. “Obama’s average grade-level score of 8.4 is more than two grades lower than the 10.7 grade average for the other 67 addresses written by his 12 predecessors,” they conclude.

First off, the speech was obviously very well rehearsed down to the last vocal inflection and raised eyebrow..in fact. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if there were theatrical directions emanating from TOTUS tonight. Simply amazing..yet as he spoke, the contradictions between what was coming out of his mouth and what we’ve seen coming out of this White House are so radically different they underlined one of the qualities I dislike most about this president -the way he arrogantly thinks everyone’s stupid except him, and thinks that the usual rule that nothing ever goes away on the internet doesn’t apply where he’s concerned.

The president started off and ended by invoking what he referred to as ‘this generation of heroes’ returning from victory in Iraq, and indeed he used the military frequently as an example of how he wants the Republicans in Congress to behave . It was disgusting to hear, considering how Senator Obama and many of his fellow Democrats cheering him on tonight did everything they could to sabotage our troops in the field and their mission during wartime. Yet he had the unmitigated gall to use military teamwork as an example of what he wants to see in Washington!

Our military is legally bound to follow President Obama’s orders no matter how nonsensical. Congress is not, especially when their common sense revolts and it was both deeply insulting as well as very revealing of the president to use the comparison, making the expected rhetoric that came later about working together a mockery. As if President Obama made any pretense of that when he and the Democrats controlled Congress!

The president went on to discuss education, and of course his solution is to spend more taxpayer dollars to hire more teachers to pay more union dues to fund the Democrats. For such a pro-education guy, you’d never think he’d be the one to stop poor kids from getting into a decent school right there in DC.

Not to mention the trillion dollar time bomb for America’s economy this president enacted by executive order concerning a new student loans entitlement that will eventually create a bubble similar to housing and is guaranteed to raise the cost of college education.

Yes, he really does intend to bankrupt the country. Or he’s simply clueless, take your pick.

The president also got in a nice plug for the DREAM Act for illegal aliens that he enacted by executive order after Congress rejected it twice. What was that about working together again?

During his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, President Obama quoted Abraham Lincoln as follows:

I’m a Democrat. But I believe what Republican Abraham Lincoln believed: That Government should do for people only what they cannot do better by themselves, and no more. That’s why my education reform offers more competition, and more control for schools and States. That’s why we’re getting rid of regulations that don’t work. That’s why our health care law relies on a reformed private market, not a Government program.

Hey, Theou! How is this for FAIR?!?!

    http://news.investors.com/Article/599002/201201260818/obama-white-house-staff-back-taxes.htm

Because how unfair — indeed, un-American — it is for an office worker like, say, Warren Buffet’s secretary to dutifully pay her taxes, while some well-to-do people with better educations and higher incomes end up paying a much smaller tax rate.

Or, worse, skipping their taxes altogether.

A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama’s executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven’t paid any share, let alone their fair share.

Previous reports have shown how well-paid Obama’s White House staff is, with 457 aides pulling down more than $37 million last year. That’s up seven workers and nearly $4 million from the Bush administration’s last year.

Nearly one-third of Obama’s aides make more than $100,000 with 21 being paid the top White House salary of $172,200, each.

The IRS’ 2010 delinquent tax revelations come as part of a required annual agency report on federal employees’ tax compliance. Turns out, an awful lot of folks being paid by taxpayers are not paying their own income taxes.

The report finds that thousands of federal employees owe the country more than $3.4 billion in back taxes. That’s up 3% in the past year.

That scale of delinquency could annoy voters, hard-pressed by their own costs, fears and stubbornly high unemployment despite Joe Biden’s many promises.

The tax offenders include employees of the U.S. Senate who help write the laws imposed on everyone else. They owe $2.1 million. Workers in the House of Representatives owe $8.5 million, Department of Education employees owe $4.3 million and over at Homeland Security, 4,697 workers owe about $37 million. Active duty military members owe more than $100 million.
