Wonderful news!!

Planned Parenthood says the move results from Komen bowing to pressure from anti-abortion activists. Komen says the key reason is that Planned Parenthood is under investigation in Congress — a probe launched by a conservative Republican who was urged to act by anti-abortion groups.

While certainly not all victims of breast cancer have had abortions, there’s a study linking abortion with development of breast cancer that, of course, was pooh-poohed by PP and the MSM.

Give the ultimate credit for this decision to Lila Rose and Live Action. While the Susan G. Komen Foundation made the decision to halt grants to Planned Parenthood because of Congressional investigations into its activities — especially in defying legal requirements to report child abuse — those investigations got started because of the investigative work done by Live Action and the intense follow-up from many more pro-life organizations

In new emails Susan G. Komen for the Cure is sending to people complaining about their grants to the Planned Parenthood abortion business, officials claim the grants are given to help women obtain breast cancer screenings. Yet, Komen also admits Planned Parenthood doesn’t do mammograms.

Last year, Komen spokesman John Hammarley confirmed 20 of Komen’s 122 affiliates have made donations to Planned Parenthood and, in 2009, those contributions totaled $731,303. He also confirmed Komen affiliates contributed about $3.3 million to the abortion business from 2004-2009.

As LifeNews.com reported in February, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards joined the talk show of pro-abortion activist Joy Behar and defended Planned Parenthood against legislation in Congress seeking to revoke its federal taxpayer funding.

“If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access, not to abortion services, to basic family planning – you know, mammograms,” she claimed.

Previously, LifeNews.com and pro-life blogger Jill Stanek followed up with phone calls to various Planned Parenthood centers and confirmed they do not do mammograms.

Today, Live Action released videotaped footage of calls to 30 Planned Parenthood centers nationwide in 27 different states where abortion facility staff were asked whether or not mammograms could be performed on site. Every one of the Planned Parenthood centers admitted they could not do mammograms. Every Planned Parenthood, without exception, tells the women calling that they will have to go elsewhere for a mammogram, and many clinics admit that no Planned Parenthood clinics provide this breast cancer screening procedure.

It is indeed good news – for Planned Parenthood – who just updated at Huff post that they have received $400,000.00 from 6000 donors since the Komen foundation announced their decision and that number will continue to grow.
The MAJORITY of people in this country believe that Roe V Wade is settled law and dont want to see it overturned. Its a small group of the extreme right wing that wish, as usual to force everyone else to their beliefs, and that the government should do this, while decrying out of the other side of their mouth that there is too much government in citizens lives. If you want to spend some of your efforts try getting the Cialis commercials and other commercials off the air for male impotence – Im sick of seeing them. Its interesting how the right wing only care about children in the womb – but will vote against every other program that might benefit low income children or put one piece of bread in their mouths. There are children in this country that go to bed hungry every night but you dont band together to do something about that. Stay out of peoples private lives its none of your business and no matter how much you think you can legislate abortions you never will be able to – whether legal or illegal women will still get abortions. You cant legislate that anymore than we could keep people from drinking during prohibition. Talk to Mrs Santorum who needed a THIRD-term late stage abortion to save her life. Thats what it was – though they call it “an induced birth” which is such a crock – it saved her life and it did so because it was LEGAL to do so. I just loved that sanctimonious Santorum saying that if your 14 year old was raped by a junkie with AIDS – they should tell the victim to keep the baby and that it was a “horrible” gift from god – yeah right you tell that to your daughter Santorum – right.

Oh, and Theou, its OK for your Savior, Obama, to spend $750, 000 on mosque rebuilding around the world while the Appalachian poor could use that money to fix up their shacks. And its OK that your Savior, Obama, creates more and more poor folks. Yeppers! The damn dems don’t mind increasing the poor in our nation then blame the repubs for not agreeing to their socialist agenda of dependency because they, the repubs, prefer programs that wil give the poor their independency back.

here is a thought from a friend:

Today is the anniversary of my Mom’s passing. She was an intelligent, warm and loving human being. So much of who I am I owe to her. I know that many other sons and daughters share a legacy like mine. Why then are women so diminished in the eyes of so many, around the world? Why do men and even other women think they have the right to tell us what is best for bodies? Why is our ability to
reproduce and any related issues, anything anyone has the right to dictate? Why are we paid less for doing the same job? Why are we still reduced to what we look like and not who we are? Can I tell a man what he can and can’t do with his pe.nis? It is still staggering that most medical research is done with men and not women, as if we were the same. Why is it now, and only because it is mandated, is birth control covered by insurance?

Women are valuable. Women deserve respect and not to be fodder for the political whims of the right. Moreover, we demand it.

    Babies are our future

and not fodder for political agendas and unbridled greed and corruption

you liberals flaunt your great education – teach birth control and abstinence instead of murder

as for staying out of peoples lives – government has no business using my tax dollars for something I am morally opposed to – abortion

and the cialis commercials – turn off your tv and hug a baby

Oh – one other thing – bring me a like to the statement you claim belongs to Santorum regarding junkies with aids raping and the poor victim raising the child otr I will be forced to with hold future comments until you can link a source

Komen announced Tuesday night that they will no longer be awarding the abortion provider Planned Parenthood with grants due to a new policy prohibiting Komen from giving to institutions under investigation by government bodies.

Planned Parenthood is currently facing a congressional investigation into whether taxpayer funds went toward abortions.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is speaking out about its controversial decision to stop giving grants to Planned Parenthood, with its founder claiming the decision has been “mischaracterized” and vowing to resist “political pressure.”

In a video posted on YouTube late Wednesday, Nancy Brinker, the charity’s founder and chief executive officer, never mentions Planned Parenthood by name. But she says the organization is trying to focus on “higher impact programs” and get rid of “duplicative” grants — and she says the “scurrilous accusations” about the change have been “profoundly hurtful to the organization.”

Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier also threatened Komen from the floor 0f the House chamber: “I guess it means that Susan G. Komen has become a 501(d)(4), because no longer do they want to be providing nonprofits, they want to become a political advocacy group. Last time I checked, we were all presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Once again, a liberal threatens to use the power of the federal government against someone the liberal deems to be an enemy of abortion.

“Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit.”1 These are the words of a woman who is heralded by women’s rights groups worldwide. These are the words of Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood, whose beliefs were firmly rooted in the destructive pseudo-science of Negative Eugenics, a social movement that believed in selective breeding to better the human race by preventing the reproduction of the ‘unfit’.2 Professionally, Sanger was a nurse who testified before the U.S. Senate in 1916 to call for the formation of the Population Congress that would seek to employ Negative Eugenics to separate humanity. Drastically limiting immigration of those considered ‘unfit’ was a mainstay of Sanger and her fellow eugenists. Their draconian proposals of forced segregation, for American citizens, were commonly held views among these ‘progressives’ who sought to achieve a superior and more intelligent race.

“It was nothing they were doing wrong,” Brinker explained. “We have decided not to fund, wherever possible, pass-through grants. We were giving them money, they were sending women out for mammograms. What we would like to have are clinics where we can directly fund mammograms.”

The Planned Parenthood abortion business is defending President Barack Obama’s decision to put in place a mandate forcing religious employers to pay for insurance coverage for their employees that covers birth control or drugs that may cause abortions.

The Obama Administration issued a statement re-iterating the “contraceptive mandate” requiring all insurance providers cover the full range of FDA-approved drugs and devices would remain intact. This mandate, issued in August, includes drugs that work after conception to destroy life rather than prevent it. The statement included a postponement of one year for religious groups that do not already carry contraceptives and additionally would not be exempted under last year’s narrow definition of “religious employer.”

In the last few decades, it’s become de rigueur for large organizations of every kind—from Avon to eBay to Xerox—to send some money Planned Parenthood’s way. It’s like they don’t even think about it—they just assume that it’s the right thing to do, and that consumers will be glad that they’re on the “right side.” In some circles, donating to Planned Parenthood is like dropping a few coins in the guitar case of the Reggae guy in the subway station: it’s what you gotta to do show that you’re a good guy, maybe to impress your date.

Pro-lifers, we are the hot date. We’re the ones corporations need to impress. For too long, pro-lifers have acted like the ugly cousin who never gets asked out. The more we’re ignored, the more we sit and home and sulk, and the more time we spend at home, the less likely it is that anyone even know we exist, never mind ask us to the prom.

No guy in his right mind would try to suck up to his date by tucking money into the spangly bra of a diseased stripper. Let’s let corporations know that that’s what Planned Parenthood is—the diseased one, the junkie, the liar, the one with no shame, the one who cannot be trusted with your money—and above all, the one corporations can’t afford to be associated with.
