tax

The Judeo-Christian tradition commands personal generosity as represented, for example, by the biblical injunction against retrieving any sheaf left behind while harvesting one’s own field. That is for the gleaners — “the poor and the alien” (Leviticus 19:10). Like Ruth in the field of Boaz. As far as I can tell, that charitable transaction involved no mediation by the IRS.

    At the National Prayer Breakfast last week, seeking theological underpinning for his drive to raise taxes on the rich, President Obama invoked the highest possible authority. His policy, he testified “as a Christian,” “coincides with Jesus’s teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.’ ”

    Now, I’m no theologian, but I’m fairly certain that neither Jesus nor his rabbinic forebears, when speaking of giving, meant some obligation to the state. You tithe the priest, not the tax man.

      This all would be merely the story of contradictory theologies, except for this: Sebelius is Obama’s appointee. She works for him. These regulations were his call. Obama authored both gospels.

      Therefore: To flatter his faith-breakfast guests and justify his tax policies, Obama declares good works to be the essence of religiosity. Yet he turns around and, through Sebelius, tells the faithful who engage in good works that what they’re doing is not religion at all. You want to do religion? Get thee to a nunnery. You want shelter from the power of the state? Get out of your soup kitchen and back to your pews. Outside, Leviathan rules.

    You know its really tiresome to quote from a book written in the first century against conditions that the writers then could never conceive of as our modern problems are and on top of that quoting it incorrectly as the bible was written in Greek- your translations are off anyway. On top of that all your little “off-shoot”
    sects are WAY off on what they practice in comparison to what was practiced in the following centuries after Christ died. The closest to the original church would be the Greek-Orthodox church and of course the Catholics. You can quote away however, its impossible to make a case for a risen Christ to side with the Republicans – he would be out with the Occupy Wall Street group and you know it.

      Its really tiresome when Progressives rebel like Satan to get their Heaven on Earth Utopia want to give their “theological” take on the Scriptures which they know nothing at all about. It’s so sadly laughable what they say about those things that are in their way of earthly Paradise.

      To think, all of the Commies, Socialists, Progressives, and Looney Liberals laying in their graves never got to see the Utopia they strived for. They wasted their lives for that which they could obtain…not even for grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sinful man just won’t co-operate…ever. Give it up and make better what is already in place AND QUIT LOOKING LIKE FOOLS, YOU IDIOT PROGRESSIVES.

      {oops! hit the caps lock-but it came at a point in my comment, lol!~}

        I forgot. When Progressives start to look like fools they just put the blame on the Repubs/Conservatives’ heads…

        Well, DUH, Sherry!

        Part of being progressive means never having to accept responsibility! That i what the occuturds are in reality protesting – being responsible for themselves

        Me, too, but I’m going to start posting his videos at my blog as posts to reveal the incredible hubris of this man. He talks down to us, his subjects (in his mind), thinking he can deceive us. Ofcourse, he would think that since he did get elected President.

      Problem solved! Let’s just mooove along and forget the whole fiasco ever happened come November…

      So. No religious charities or organizations who offers insurance to their workers will have to pay for contraceptives because the health insurance provided by them will pay it. Boy! I am as dumb as a box of rocks but even I know that insurance is paid for by the employer. This solved nothing except to cause religious employers to drop insurance coverage for their employees.

      Oh. Well. There’s always Obamacare….

    I minored in Theology from USC and I read, write and speak Greek – so I believe that I have the credentials to speak about the scriptures. Regarding Obamacare after everyone understands how it works in a few years people will also say keep your hands of my obamacare, medicare and social security. But of course, you will never acknowledge it. It doesnt matter to our side – we know we have right on our side. Its amazing how you can be for a party that does not have your best interests at heart like the Republicans -just amazing. They dont care about YOU its all talk to get elected – and they help get elected by rich corporations that dont have your interests at heart wake up!

      Doesn’t make you anyone of authority to listen to if you have not got that personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You will be blind to the truth until then.
