    Hey, Delauro! Envy much? 🙄

    BTW, milk and water are far healthier choices. Let the wealthy have their rich meals-they aren’t as healthy as those who eat right be they from any income.

    {psst…sad that we live in a day when an inane comment like hers gets applause}

    In a recent sit-down with The Atlas Society, Rep. Allen West warned that America could become “a socialist egalitarian nanny state” and that liberals view the government’s safety net as a hammock.

    He also said the novel after which the D.C.-based organization is named — Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” — belongs behind just one other book.

    “I think that ‘Atlas Shrugged’ is the most widely read book second only to the Bible, which is a good thing,” West said in an interview posted yesterday to The Atlas Society’s website. […]

    “Conservatives believe that ever person who comes to America or is born here, they have a ladder that they are given as their birthright or becoming a citizen,” he said. “Sometimes you fall off of that ladder, but we believe that there is a safety net that is there, and that safety net is to catch you and get you to bounce back up and continue to climb on the ladder. That’s what conservatives believe.

    “But liberals tend to believe that the safety net is a hammock, so you can stay there the rest of your life.”

    While the Obama administration was taking a victory lap last week after the 5-4 Supreme Court decision to uphold the president’s signature legislative accomplishment, Obamacare, the Interior Department was using the media black hole to release a much-awaited five-year plan for offshore drilling. That plan reinstitutes a 30-year moratorium on offshore energy exploration that will keep our most promising resources locked away until long after President Obama begins plans for his presidential library. Given the timing, it is clear that the self-described “all of the above” energy president didn’t want the American people to discover that he was denying access to nearly 98 percent of America’s vast energy potential on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).
