As the scope of the government’s spying on private citizens becomes clear, left-wing politicians are openly criticizing Obama and his Administration. Long critical of Bush-era anti-terror policies, many had expected Obama to end these practices, rather than expand him. MD Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings said, “I think the president needs to go back and read his own speeches.”
B.b..but! Its for our security! Ha! Like Mark Levin said on his show tonight, if it was for security then why do we still have open borders? Why is this admin stripping the military? Why is this a blanket data mining which only impedes any law investigations by having too much info to sift thru??? 😕
I don’t need anyone “protecting” me. The Government’s job IS to protect the country from outside attacks. They are justifying this snooping as a method to protect us. However, they are collecting, collating, aggregating everything and STORING it for good.
This begs the question… if you keep that data, for how long must you keep it? When someone gets a traffic ticket do they go back through it all to see if perhaps you were speeding to get to a “Liberty Meeting” or something?
It’s bad ENOUGH that every data collection group out there NOT related to the government already knows what we “want to buy” but do we need to government able to figure out what we “Think”? Hell no.
The 4th Amendment is CLEARLY being violated here…
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized”
Every word in that amendment is being violated. Our homes, papers and effects are our data, computers, phones, records of all we do, say, buy, look at, links we visit and who we call. No warrants have been issued at all, no probable cause has been justified, and no one has described “particularly” what they seek. In fact, only a “general collection scheme” and “aggregation” has been instituted against everyone.
Those who don’t use the phone, don’t connect on the Internet, don’t buy things on the computer are the only ones NOT being looked at.
I would say that the true criminals out there, those that want the West dead don’t really use the Internet all that much.
So, they can point to what? one? two? maybe three plots they have stopped using this? By violating millions of peoples’ rights to simply be LEFT ALONE!
